Permaculture Garden at Watermark

Watermark Kilns once produced the state’s top tobacco crops from its rich Karri Loam soil. Our permaculture garden takes advantage of the same soils. Its core input is chook energy.

Our eager team of Isa–Browns, housed in the light-weight ‘chook dome’, turn over the soil, clean up the previous crop and manure it for the next one. They also provide more eggs than we can possibly consume, so you are invited to help yourselves. You are also free to sample whatever’s growing in the garden
