Accommodation
The buildings were originally constructed as tobacco kilns. Trevor and Jeanette have been conscious of heritage values and have been careful to preserve the original structure and appearance of the buildings. The gable-with-a-lid-on-top design allowed for temperature in the kilns to be controlled by opening and closing flaps. This feature has been retained so that guests can regulate temperature in the buildings in the same way. And if it’s cold there’s a pot-belly stove supplied with dry firewood. The Kilns can accommodate up to twenty people. All water is UV sterilised rain water. The Kilns offer a luxury break from the rigours of the track, or ideal accommodation for family or special interest groups. The latter are well served in the Double Kiln by a generous communal room with potbelly heating, a whopping big table and balcony views over the valley. |
Flexible budget accommodation for walkers, families and friends. Tariff : exclusive use of the Double Kiln $180/night. or : share with whoever comes along for $40/head. Track Walkers’ Special: $35/head - if you get to us on foot without vehicle support. |
